Preparation

The preparation is very easy and is separated in three steps:

Step 1:
Register your phone number using the app Quicksy and confirm the number by entering the code received by SMS.

Step 2:
Set a displayname which you want to use in Quicksy (e.g. your first name or nickname). The Android version of Quicksy directly asks for a displayname. If you are using iOS, you need to go to settings to find your account details and set the displayname.

Step 3:
Let’s see who of your contacts is a registered Quicksy users. The easiest way is to give Quicksy the rights to read your address book – but you don’t have to. You can also add contacts manually if you know their chataddresses.
By the way: You also have a chataddress. It is composed of your phone number followed by @quicksy.im. An example-chataddress for a German cellphone number would be: +491729925904@quicksy.im

Note
There is also a German video tutorial for installing Quicksy: German Quicksy-Tutorial (Android) and German Quicksy-Tutorial (iOS-Version).
